Technical Research




Level 1

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has one or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) One Positive Political Point granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) +1 Bonus to Gold rolls.

3) +1 Bonus to Oil rolls.

4) +1 Bonus to Steel rolls.

5) +2 Bonus to Produce rolls.



Level 2

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has two or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Two Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) Factory Units are now capable of building two Armor Units or two Refinery Units or one of each from one Steel Unit.

3) +2 Bonus to Oil rolls.



Level 3

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has three or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Three Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) Cities gain an extra 1% GP, City Units now have a 9% GP.

3) For every Factory Unit deduct 3 EP's from the cost of Armor and Sea-transport Units up to 30 EP's per unit.


Level 4

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has four or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Four Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) Factory Units are now capable of building three Air-Transport Units from one Steel Unit.

3) +2 Bonus to Steel rolls.


Level 5

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has five or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Five Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) The Epidemic/Catastrophe Response Chart is now available to the Player.

3) The Environmental Early Warning Chart is now available to the Player.

4) The Nuclear Test Table can be used by the player.



Level 6

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has seven or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Six Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) With six University Units Biological Payloads are available to the Player .

3) With six University Units Bio-Cities and Bio-Factories are available to the Player .

4) With six University Units City and Factory Units can be converted into Bio-Cities and Bio-Factories for 40 EP's each.

5) With six University Units Mining Units can mine coal and act as Refinery Units and can use the Oil Table for 30 EP's.

6) With six University Units Refinery Units can drill offshore (light blue hexes).



Level 7

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has eight or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Seven Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

3) With seven University Units the Near Earth Objects Table can be used.

4) With seven University Units every two Produce Units may be converted into an Oil Unit on phase 8, deduct three points from the Carbon Dioxide Index for each Oil Unit produced in this manner (Oil Units will still be counted as usual on phase 20).


Level 8

Cost: 50 EP's (If the player has six or more University Units the cost is only 15 EP's)

Benefits:

1) Eight Positive Political Points granted every turn at the beginning of phase 8.

2) With eight Universities any territory with a Refinery Unit that has a Dry Well or Refinery still in production and a Factory Unit may begin to use Geo-thermal energy for a cost of 30 EP's the Production is a continuous 5 Oil Units on phase 8, deduct 10 points from the Carbon Dioxide Index each production cycle (Oil Units will still be counted as usual on phase 20).

3) With nine Universities any territory with a Refinery Unit that has a Dry Well or Refinery still in production and two Factory Units may begin to use Solar and Wind energy for a cost of 40 EP's the Production is a continuous 6 Oil Units on phase 8, deduct 15 points from the Carbon Dioxide Index each production cycle (Oil Units will still be counted as usual on phase 20).

4) With ten Universities Steel Units may be dumped into the sea, deduct 2 points from the Carbon Dioxide Index per Steel Unit.

5) With eleven Universities Space Stations may be constructed.
